Tacks, the boy disaster
…And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead, The American Analog Set, Explosions In the Sky, Fastball, I Love You But I’ve Chosen Darkness, Okkervil River, Spoon e Voxtrot basterebbero per assegnare ad Austin, Texas, la più alta onorificenza al merito musicale, senza dimenticare che ha dato rifugio a Janis Joplin e Stevie Ray Vaughan. Alla lunga lista è il caso di aggiungere anche I Tacks, the boy disaster (con la seconda parte del nome in minuscolo), che promettono davvero molto; anzi, in parte già mantengono. Il loro debutto discografico è recentemente stato pubblicato in Europa, nella veste di un EP (piuttosto lungo invero – quasi un album) intitolato Oh, Beatrice. Dreampop, psich rock, difficile attribuire un’etichetta a questi suoni, ed anche accostarli ad altri gruppi, anche se in questo caso si può forse spendere i nomi di The Earlies e Grizzly Bear, per certi aspetti. In questi casi è molto meglio farsi un’idea con le proprie orecchie, non è vero?
